As well as being a professional engineer, she has worked both in-house and in private practice, giving her a practical understanding of the intellectual property needs of clients at every stage of innovation—from individual inventors and start-ups to established tech companies.

Having managed the full patent lifecycle as an in-house patent agent for a large high-tech company, Carol Ann understands the commercial realities of building and managing a strategic patent portfolio. She enjoys working closely with inventors, engineers, and business leaders to develop practical patent strategies that support innovation and long-term business objectives. Her experience in both corporate and private practice enables her to provide thoughtful, responsive guidance tailored to each client's technical and commercial needs.
Carol Ann has worked with innovations spanning a wide variety of technology fields, including artificial intelligence, big data, fintech, software, wired and wireless communication networks, display technologies, electronics, and mechanical devices.
Before beginning her career in intellectual property, Carol Ann worked as a PCB and FPGA designer in the telecommunications industry. This engineering background gives her a practical understanding of product development and allows her to quickly grasp complex technologies and communicate effectively with inventors and engineers.
